Instructions for authors
.Short oral presentations. Abstracts by 8 September 2020 The Submissions page for all contributions is now open on this website. NOW CLOSED
Text abstract initially. As there is limited time in this one-day experimental workshop, oral presentations will normally be 12 min with 10 mins for questions. Now closed.
Using this unusual medium means the questions to the speaker should be sent by text to the chair of the session. The speaker can then answer questions as time allows AND post answers to frequently-asked questions at an appropriate place in the private team suite we will be using. There should also be time to chat informally at points during the event.
Multimedia 'poster' or 'kiosk' sessions. Closed for submission, but may be possible to display your material for you. Please get in touch.
This is where a virtual world has the advantage. 'Posters' are traditionally large sheets of paper stuck on a display board or wall. Whilst a digital version is possible, use of VirBELA's offices means that up to two screens are available for videos or webpages to be displayed. The digital mimic of a poster is also necessarily limited in resolution, and so any poster image is usually linked to a webpage which allows the viewer to scrutinise the contents in more detail using a traditional web browser.
Posters may also be standalone and outside the offices section.
